Welcome to the newly constructed home page of the International Mineral Processing Congress. The IMPC Council has great pleasure in launching this web site in the interests of promoting greater communication between mineral processors worldwide. It is well known to all of us that mining is playing an ever-more important role in promoting the current global economic growth. However at the same time the industry continues to be challenged to address critical issues such as global warming, climate change, greenhouse gas emissions, the disjunction between energy demand and supply, the perennial shortage of water especially in many major mining countries, the shortage of appropriate skills, etc.

It is fitting for the International Mineral Processing community to play an increasingly pro-active role in addressing these major technical and social challenges. It is hoped that, with time, this web site will become a significant provider of key information not only for mineral processing engineers but also for policy makers, the investment community and other sectors with an interest in the mining and mineral processing industry.
